Immediate Opening:

On-Site Campground Host / Manager or Couple (Full job description)

Live and work steps from the beach in Pleasure Point — one of Santa Cruz’s most desirable coastal neighborhoods.

About the Park

Beach RV Pleasure Point is a small 16-space boutique RV park tucked between a creek and the sand in the Pleasure Point neighborhood of Santa Cruz—and a 9-minute walk to the beach. We cater to a mix of vacationers, weekend getaways, and longer-term seasonal guests in one of the most desirable coastal communities in California.

The Position

We are seeking a reliable individual or couple to serve as the sole on-site Campground Host / Resident Manager responsible for all aspects of park operations. This is a part-time, non-exempt position under California law (resident manager classification) available immediately.

Ideal for a couple or individual with outside income looking for a coastal California basecamp. Long-term preferred but seasonal 6-month work-camper engagement possible for the right candidate. You must own and live in your own RV on-site. On-site residency is a condition of employment.

This is an independent role with real agency — you are the face of the park and the primary point of contact for all guests. This role requires someone who already knows how to manage a property, handle guests, and maintain high standards without extensive hand-holding. Ownership lives next door and is hands-on during onboarding, then increasingly in the background as you get comfortable.

We are a small pride-of-ownership park in a fantastic location, but with few of the usual amenities—so we have high standards for guest experience and the daily appearance and cleanliness of the park. You should too — be the kind of person who notices the weeds in the walkway and mildew in the bathhouse before being told, and takes pride in keeping the place looking great. If that comes naturally to your personality, you’ll thrive here.

Responsibilities

Guest Relations & Reservations

  • Provide friendly, professional guest service via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Manage reservations and “sell the park” to prospective guests.
  • Assist guests with check-in/out, local area recommendations.
  • Maintain a regular daytime on-site presence and be available after-hours as when appropriate to address guest issues

Maintenance, Grounds & Facilities

  • Daily site prep and turnover
  • Clean and maintain grounds, common areas, restrooms/showers, and laundry facilities to the highest standards
  • Ensure facilities are in good working order and perform minor repairs (plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting).
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for major repairs and projects.

Administrative & Park Management

  • Maintain general office / administrative duties
  • Enforce park rules, understand and ensure compliance with county and state RV park regulations.
  • Follow standard operating procedures, identify opportunities to improve operations and the guest experience.
  • Assist ownership with sales, marketing, and the park’s online presence as needed
  • Engage with ownership / advisors for escalations / exceptions
Compensation & Benefits
  • Hourly wage $18–$22/hr, depending on experience
  • Full-hookup RV site provided as part of compensation. 20 hours/week covers the site via rent credit, with the balance of wages paid in cash biweekly. $150/mo utility credit.
  • Estimated total workload of 20–35+ hours/week depending on season and operational needs. Hours may be adjusted based on business requirements.
  • Water, sewer, trash, and internet service included
  • Electricity metered at cost (currently $0.40/kWh), offset by $150 utility credit or wages.
  • Performance Bonus: Quarterly bonus opportunity based on guest satisfaction, occupancy, and operational standards.
  • Independent work environment with a mix of indoor/outdoor duties in a beautiful coastal location in the heart of Santa Cruz

Important Note on Compensation: This is a part-time, non-exempt resident manager position under California law. Living on-site is a condition of employment, but you are only paid for actual hours worked—not for simply residing at the property. All work hours must be tracked and reported.

Couples: If applying as a couple, both persons will be employed and compensated for hours worked. Couples can split duties between guest services and maintenance based on skills and preferences.

Required:

  • 2+ years Hospitality, vacation rentals, property management, or campground management/operations experience.

  • Friendly guest relations, excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and administrative ability
